Terms of Service

Effective date: July 16, 2026. These Terms are an agreement between you and ShieldOS, and govern your access to and use of ShieldOS (www.shieldosdocs.com).

Not legal advice

ShieldOS is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. No attorney–client relationship is created by creating an account, uploading documents, generating analysis, drafting letters, or using any ShieldOS feature.

AI-generated analysis, summaries, scores, timelines, and response letters are informational self-help tools only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation.

You are solely responsible for reviewing anything before you send it, for deciding what actions to take, and for meeting any deadlines on legal or financial documents. Missing a deadline can have serious consequences.

For complex, contested, or high-stakes matters — including anything involving court, eviction, large debts, or potential criminal exposure — consult a licensed attorney in your state.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using ShieldOS, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who may use the service

You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to create an account and use ShieldOS. By using the service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

Description of service

ShieldOS is a documentation and self-help platform that may include:

  • Document upload and AI-assisted analysis in plain English
  • Draft response letter generation for your review
  • Case organization tools such as timelines, evidence storage, ProofShield documentation, ClaimBuilder organization, and collective documentation groups
  • Related dashboards and account features

Features available to you may depend on the products or subscription you purchase. We may change, improve, or discontinue parts of the service with reasonable notice where practicable.

AI limitations

Artificial intelligence can make mistakes. Generated content may misstate facts, miss deadlines, invent details, or misunderstand your documents.

You must verify all facts, names, amounts, dates, addresses, and legal references in any analysis or letter before relying on it or sending it. ShieldOS does not guarantee that AI output is correct, complete, or appropriate for your circumstances.

Payments and refunds

One-time products unlock features for a specific case or purchase (for example, analysis or letter generation). Once the digital deliverable has been successfully provided, the purchase is generally non-refundable.

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then.

Refund policy: If a paid generation fails for a technical reason on our side and our support team cannot fix it, we will refund that purchase. Otherwise, digital products are non-refundable once delivered. Contact support@shieldosdocs.com for billing issues.

Prices are stated in US dollars unless otherwise noted. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use ShieldOS for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload documents or data you have no right to possess, access, or share
  • Attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt security, authentication, or other users' data
  • Reverse engineer, abuse rate limits, scrape, or interfere with the platform except as allowed by law
  • Misrepresent ShieldOS output as advice from an attorney or as an official government or court document

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the service or other users.

Intellectual property

Your content. You retain ownership of the documents and information you upload. You also own the draft letters and other outputs generated for your personal use, subject to these Terms and any rights of third parties in source materials.

Our platform. ShieldOS — including the software, branding, design, prompts, and documentation — is owned by ShieldOS or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service as provided.

Disclaimer of warranties

ShieldOS is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will meet your needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShieldOS and its officers, members, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, missed deadlines, adverse legal outcomes, or business interruption, arising from your use of (or inability to use) ShieldOS.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (US $50), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless ShieldOS from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Massachusetts will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, except where prohibited by law.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of ShieldOS after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
