Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026. This policy explains what personal information ShieldOS collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
ShieldOS (www.shieldosdocs.com) is a consumer documentation platform based in Massachusetts, United States. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to ShieldOS.
Questions about privacy: support@shieldosdocs.com.
What we collect
Depending on how you use ShieldOS, we may collect:
- Account data — such as your email address and authentication information when you create an account.
- Case data — documents, descriptions, intake answers, timelines, evidence metadata, and other content you upload or enter into your cases and groups.
- Payment data — billing details needed to process purchases. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Usage data — limited technical and product usage information (for example, pages visited, feature use, and error logs) that helps us operate and improve the service.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the ShieldOS service — including analyzing documents and generating draft letters. To do that, we send relevant document and case content to our AI provider, Anthropic.
- Process payments and manage unlocks, purchases, and subscriptions.
- Send transactional emails (for example, purchase confirmations and account-related messages) through Resend.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and comply with applicable law.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your uploaded documents to train AI models.
Subprocessors
We rely on trusted service providers (“subprocessors”) to operate ShieldOS. Current subprocessors include:
Supabase
Database, authentication, and private document storage
Vercel
Website hosting and application delivery
Stripe
Payment processing (we never store your card numbers)
Anthropic
AI analysis and letter generation from document content you submit
Resend
Transactional email delivery (receipts, confirmations, account mail)
Storage and security
Case documents are stored in private storage with per-user access controls enforced through database row-level security (RLS). Only you (and systems acting on your behalf to provide the service) should be able to access your case files under normal operation.
We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Your rights
You may request to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Export a copy of your account and case data where reasonably available
- Delete your account and associated personal data
To make a request, email support@shieldosdocs.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Data retention
We keep your account and case data while your account is active so you can use the service. When you request deletion, we delete or de-identify personal data associated with your account within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes (for example, payment records).
Children
ShieldOS is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of ShieldOS after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
